I am a CG artist who is capable of making characters, props and environments that suit both a video game pipeline and an animation pipeline. I am open for freelance, contract, and full time employment opportunities.

Work Style

I have the the most experience working within a video game pipeline, creating low poly models capable of working in game engine with efficient texture maps. I enjoy making stylized 3D work but i'm also prepared to cater to different modelling styles where needed. Speed and efficiency are my main goals when creating a 3D model, asset or environment, producing what is needed technically. During previous group projects I have made sure to follow the art direction and ensure that the project style is catered for whilst retaining an individual creative style. I aim to establish personal deadlines for projects, whether it be personal or collaborative and take pride in everything that I create or work on. In my spare time I like to keep up with studying anatomy, topology and sculpting styles.

I am happy to work independently however, I have also had experience with managing group projects. For example, during my final year at University, I undertook the role of Lead Artist in a group project with over 20 people. During this time I was responsible for ensuring deadline targets were met, maintaining constant communication between artists, animators and the director, overseeing that the art style requested was adhered to and allocating my personal time to tackle technical and creative issues in the pipeline.

SUMMARY

September 2014 - June 2018       University of South Wales

Skillset approved degree.             (BA Hons Computer Art + Animation)

I gained valuable experience in 3D modelling, sculpting, texturing, lighting and rendering.

My experience of 3D modelling is from the ground up. I learnt to box model which then developed into more technical techniques, learning the methodology of good topology, and how to create z clean base mesh to benefit the sculpting progress. This knowledge has helped me to go on and help others during group tasks. Being co-operative during teamwork has been essential and allowed me to learn how to fit within a pipeline and perform the tasks expected of me whilst strengthening my communication skills with team members, time management and understanding others expectations of me. I have gained leadership qualities thanks to a lead artist position on a short film which has really tested and confirmed my 3D technical knowledge. The degree contains short deadlines that have to be met and are reflected in industry standard practice. Meeting them was important to understand the turnaround expected in a production.
